Ashby & Patrick | Estate Wedding
These two lawyers live in Louisville, KY but Ashby wanted to get married to Patrick at her childhood home in Anniston, AL and it-was-beautful!! The house was built in the 1940's where both she and her mom grew up. Not only that, her mom and dad were married 30 years ago in the same spot on the front porch! When I heard this story, it made me want to cry--anybody?!? I love when couples incorporate their family traditions and history in to their own stories. Plus, this front porch must have pretty good karma :) They even passed around a loving cup that had been in their families for over 200 years which they poured champagne in to and passed around. I had never seen this before at a wedding and loved hearing her adorable grandmother (who she is named after) stand up and tell the story.
The bridal party got ready at the newly renovated Hotel Finial in Anniston (holy stained glass window!) before heading to the ceremony site. The invitations were hand painted by Ashby's cousin along with the koozie's. This included the swing that hung from the giant magnolia tree to the side of the house. There were so many details that made their day so special.
Ashby and Patrick, thank you for trusting me to capture your day! It was perfect and I know it is only a stepping stone to the beautiful life you will have together. Congratulations and thanks for celebrating!
